Welcoming Our First Cohort of DiveIn CDT Offer Holders
On Friday, 21st June, we were delighted to welcome our first cohort of incoming postgraduate research students (PGRs) to a dedicated offer holders’ event.
The day was designed to introduce them to the DiveIn team and the Mazumdar-Shaw Advanced Research Centre (ARC) – where they will be based at the start of the programme – and to give them a chance to meet one another ahead of joining in September.
The event opened with a warm welcome from the DiveIn team, followed by a Q&A session where offer holders learned more about the programme’s structure, aims, and upcoming activities.
During lunch, the group had the opportunity to meet some of our School Representatives and Mission Priority Area Champions, who joined us to welcome the new cohort.
In the afternoon, Dr John Harris (Head of ARC Operations) introduced the group to the ARC, highlighting its cutting-edge facilities and collaborative research environment. This was followed by a guided tour, offering a first-hand look at the spaces where students may soon be conducting their own research.
It was a pleasure to welcome our incoming cohort, to see their enthusiasm throughout the day, and to witness the early connections forming among fellow students.
The DiveIn CDT programme officially begins on 1st September 2025, with an induction event at the ARC. We look forward to seeing their research journeys unfold and welcoming them fully into the DiveIn community this autumn.
