Why Glasgow

If we are going to push the frontiers of knowledge and tackle the biggest challenges facing society, we need diverse talent to help us on that mission. However, for our talent to thrive, we need to create and nurture the right environment and conditions within the University. The DiveIn CDT has been designed to foster an inclusive research environment in which everyone can prosper.”

Professor Chris Pearce

Vice Principal for Research and Knowledge Exchange

At UofG we want to do inclusion and diversity meaningfully. Not as a box ticking exercise but as a valuable and valued aspect of our research. The DiveIn CDT takes a pioneering approach to centering inclusion and diversity in research. We are excited about welcoming the new people, ideas, and ways of doing and seeing things that DiveIn will bring to the University.”

Professor Doris Ruth Eikhof

Academic Lead for Inclusive Research Practice

“The University of Glasgow aims to ensure that every member of our research ecosystem is supported to be at their best, and to be part of an engaging, fair, and collegial environment in which people help each other to succeed and to make informed, active choices about their career ahead. Our sector-leading teams offer a wide spectrum of opportunities to PGRs, Research Staff, their Supervisors and PIs. These range from short courses, to inductions, mentoring, public engagement, peer communities, conferences, writing festivals, leadership programmes, tutorials, internships and more. We support researchers to understand that they can learn from a huge range of different people and players – learning the unwritten rules of research life through their university and global communities, and informal day-to-day conversations.”
