About In2scienceUK

In2scienceUK is delighted to be partnered with DiveIn to provide transformative opportunities for the next generation of scientists and innovators.

Established in 2010, In2scienceUK is an award-winning national social mobility charity dedicated to helping thousands of young people from low socioeconomic backgrounds and underrepresented groups access and succeed in education and careers in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).

We believe that innovation can only be achieved when educational and professional opportunities in STEM industries are accessible for all, which is why we’re pleased to have the support of DiveIn, a CDT model which prioritises leveraging diverse talent.

Our programmes

Our initiatives focus on breaking down systemic barriers that many young people from underserved backgrounds face, such as limited access to relatable role models, relevant careers information or practical in-person experiences.

By working with our fantastic partners and volunteers, In2scienceUK offers a mixture of in-person STEM work experience, expert advice through workshops and mentoring and networking events to equip beneficiaries with the skills, knowledge and connections to succeed. These are delivered through our two core programmes – In2STEM and In2research.

In2STEM is a summer programme designed to support Year 12 and S5/6 students as they navigate the start of their STEM journey, while the In2research programme is a one-year initiative that provides support for those pursuing a future in postgraduate research.

As one of our partners supporting In2research, DiveIn contributes to breaking down barriers to careers and education in postgraduate research and driving change to create a more inclusive research culture. As part of our latest programme surveys, 90% of participants agreed that they gained practical research skills, and 97% felt that In2research helped them to decide whether they want a career in research.
