BioAscent Discovery

BioAscent Discovery is an award‑winning drug discovery CRO based in Newhouse, employing over 80 scientists across chemistry, biology, computational science, and screening. Since 2013, we’ve supported academic groups, biotechs, and pharma with integrated discovery services. Our key strengths include medicinal and computational chemistry, AI‑driven molecular design, high‑throughput and phenotypic screening, bespoke assay development, and world‑class compound management. Increasingly, our programmes combine experimental and in silico approaches, including GPCR‑focused design and emerging machine‑learning methods. We offer several pathways for postgraduate careers, including roles in computational science, chemistry, data science, and screening operations, with strong opportunities for development and cross‑disciplinary exposure. EDI is central to our culture. We promote inclusive recruitment, flexible working, and diverse scientific teams. Joining DiveIn reflects our commitment to widening access to industrial R&D and helping postgraduate researchers engage with real‑world drug discovery. We have experience collaborating with universities in joint grants, internships, and PhD co‑supervision. Working with CDTs aligns with our interest in solving challenges such as AI‑enabled design, complex screening data, GPCR modelling, and integration of computational and experimental workflows. Potential CDT projects could combine machine learning, cheminformatics, structural biology, screening sciences, and chemical biology. We can offer placements, joint supervision, mentorship, industrial datasets, and access to cutting‑edge technologies. Past students co‑supervised with BioAscent have moved into industry roles across medicinal chemistry, bioinformatics, and data‑driven discovery. We provide an applied, collaborative environment that complements academic research while accelerating professional development.
