Why do you want to join the DiveIn community?

AI technologies often struggle with high energy consumption, inherent biases, and the urgent need for professional reskilling, all of which undermine sustainability, fairness, and equitable access to opportunities.

At LumiAIres, we believe in a more harmonious interaction between human and artificial intelligence. That’s why we’ve reimagined AI to be both sustainable and inclusive.

By joining the DiveIn CDT community, we see an opportunity to collaborate with students and academics who share our vision and can contribute to advancing our project toward a more equitable and responsible AI future.

Organisation profile

LumiAIres is an early-stage startup based in Glasgow, founded by Dr Giulia Marcucci and Jeremy Delhommeau.

With over 20 years of combined expertise in co-designed algorithms, optical computing, and programming engineering, our founding team is fully dedicated to developing sustainable and inclusive AI technologies.

Our flagship product is an AI-driven networking suite designed to help professionals discover relevant events, connect with the right people, eliminate FOMO, and advance their careers—tailored to individual goals and aspirations.

LumiAIres offers a unique environment for postgraduate careers, providing opportunities to engage in all facets of AI development, from research to product implementation. We are dedicated to fostering diversity within the tech industry, with a felt commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI). Both founders bring diverse perspectives, with Giulia being a woman in STEM and Jeremy an international engineer, driving our mission to create bias-free, accessible AI.

We joined the DiveIn CDT community to collaborate with students and academics who share our vision of a more equitable AI future. We are interested in interdisciplinary research projects that address real-world challenges, such as reducing AI’s energy consumption, eliminating biases in algorithms, developing optical processors, and ensuring equitable access to professional opportunities.

LumiAIres seeks to form partnerships with academic institutions and industry leaders to advance responsible AI. We offer flexible research arrangements, including co-supervised PhD projects, providing postgraduate researchers with mentorship, access to cutting-edge technology, and opportunities for professional growth.

For those interested in shaping the future of ethical AI, LumiAIres offers an engaging and impactful environment where innovative ideas are nurtured, and diverse perspectives are valued. Dr Giulia Marcucci is available for direct contact to discuss potential collaborations and research opportunities.
