To increase awareness and involvement with commercialisation of technologies being developed at the University of Glasgow.
As well as to help train and inspire the next generation of muography researcher, and to contribute towards an exciting and important initiative.
Organisation profile
Lynkeos is a University of Glasgow spinout that formed in 2016. It employs 5 members of staff.
It specialises in a new form of passive Non Destructive Testing (NDT) technique called muography, that uses natural cosmic radiation as a powerful inspection tool for applications in nuclear decommissioning and civil engineering. We regularly fund Ph.D. studentships and recruit graduates into our team.
We are proud sponsors of EDI events and initiatives and strive to improve representation for underrepresented demographics in STEM careers.
We seek skilled researchers to address challenges in making our technologies more attractive to industry adoption (cheaper, quicker etc.) through innovative sensor technology development, advanced manufacturing techniques and AI implementation.
Our teams of technicians, physicists and analysts seek (software and structural) engineering expertise to expedite the use of our technologies in EPSRC disciplines. We offer mentoring, training in our technologies and opportunities to use data for modelling and software development.
We can host students at our University of Glasgow laboratories. Lynkeos currently funds a PhD student (William O’Donnell) in the Nuclear Physics group working on AI development for reinforced concrete inspection using muons.
