Mission Priority Areas
I am passionate about building intelligent, energy-efficient, and inclusive digital infrastructures that can support the demands of next-generation wireless systems. My research focuses on the design and optimisation of AI-enabled communication networks, with particular interest in energy-aware architectures, autonomous systems, and the integration of terrestrial, aerial, and satellite networks. I am especially interested in how AI and blockchain technologies can be harnessed to create secure, adaptive, and sustainable wireless systems.
My work spans theoretical modelling, algorithm design, and real-world implementation. I have led and contributed to numerous national and international projects, including those funded by DSIT, EPSRC, ESA, and industry partners. These projects have explored topics such as Open RAN, wireless blockchain consensus and digital twins for battlefield assessment. I am always looking to collaborate across disciplines—particularly in AI, cybersecurity, aerospace, and digital health—to co-create solutions that are technically robust and socially impactful.
Within the DiveIn CDT, I would like to supervise projects that explore AI-driven frameworks for energy-efficient and autonomous network management, blockchain-based trust mechanisms in wireless systems, and the integration of space-air-ground networks for resilient rural and remote connectivity. I am also interested in projects that investigate the theoretical performance bounds of emerging network paradigms and their implications for digital inclusion.
As a supervisor, I am supportive and collaborative. I encourage independent thinking and help students develop both technical depth and a strong sense of purpose. My PhD students have gone on to research roles at leading UK institutions.
I am committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion in research and education. I actively support initiatives that widen participation in STEM and ensure that all students—regardless of background—feel valued and empowered. I have mentored students from underrepresented groups and contributed to international capacity-building projects in Official Development Assistance (ODA) countries.
