Mission Priority Areas
I am deeply passionate about leveraging scientific research to benefit humanity, with a strong focus on advancing energy-efficient solutions in wireless communication systems and smart grids. My research group explores how technology—including the emerging field of AI-powered Metaverse platforms—can transform education and professional training, particularly in sectors like healthcare and robotics.
Our work sits at the intersection of engineering, artificial intelligence, and sustainability. We actively seek interdisciplinary collaborations that unite expertise from the physical sciences, computer science, and application domains such as healthcare. I am eager to join forces with colleagues in academia, industry, and healthcare to amplify the societal impact of our work.
Looking ahead, I envisage CDT projects where students investigate the application of Generative AI to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of existing training solutions in any domain. I am especially enthusiastic about supervising students who share this passion for innovative, tech-driven solutions. My supervisory style is supportive and approachable—I believe that open communication, encouragement, and work-life balance are key to student success. Many graduates from my group remain engaged with me over the years and have gone on to impactful roles in academia, industry, and research organizations worldwide.
Equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) is central to my philosophy. I have served on the working group that prepared the EDI guidelines for IET Accreditation of engineering programs, reflecting my commitment to making research and education accessible to everyone and fostering diverse voices in STEM.
Beyond my academic role, I value a healthy work-life balance, both for myself and for those I mentor.
