Personal profile:

As the co-lead of the AI for Biomedicine Lab, my research passion lies in advancing machine learning and AI applications in the healthcare and biomedical domains. Our team focuses on cutting-edge developments in Natural Language Processing (NLP) with tools like large language models (LLMs) and employs graph neural networks for BioMedical Knowledge Extraction, Representation & Reasoning tasks. We strive to integrate these technologies to address challenges in drug discovery, clinical decision support, precision medicine, and disease prediction.

Collaboration is at the heart of our research approach, and we actively seek interdisciplinary partnerships with experts in bioinformatics, genomics, and healthcare to address complex challenges in drug discovery, clinical decision support, precision medicine, and disease prediction.

In supervising potential DiveIn CDT projects, I envision engaging in projects that bridge the gap between NLP and biomedical research, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. I am committed to providing guidance on projects related to drug discovery, clinical decision support, and precision medicine. As a supervisor, I prioritise an inclusive and supportive environment, encouraging team members to explore innovative ideas and contribute their expertise.

My commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion is reflected in the core principles of our research team. We believe diverse perspectives enrich our work and lead to more impactful solutions. I actively promote EDI within the team and seek opportunities to enhance diversity in our collaborative efforts. As for my track record, I prioritise EDI in research and have successfully cultivated an inclusive team environment.
