Organisation profile

Clyde currently employs 7 personnele and maintains two others on a consultancy basis. Clyde Biosciences Ltd was founded in 2012 as a spin-out from Glasgow University and operates with an annual turnover of approx. £1M per annum.

The laboratory is equipped to maintain iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes and other culture cell types in short and longterm culture. The testing lab currently has two fully specified CellOPTIQ systems and associated data analysis workstations.

Clyde Biosciences will will provide an in-kind contribution consisting of:

  1. formulation of challenges and research projects in the Health mission priority area,
  2. access to cell cultures and cell samples that can provide benchmarking and proof-of-concept data for novel bio-imaging applications,
  3. access to expertise in signal processing and functional image analysis (iv) the possibility of access to equipment, e.g., comparing and contrasting system performance with our CellOPTIQ systems.

We will further participate at CDT events looking to connect our cardiac imaging expertise with new interdisciplinary research projects.
